This past week The Cure Group LLC in partnership with Tabernash Cannabis had the opportunity to meet with Andy Joseph and the family team at Apeks Supercritical for the grand opening of their new manufacturing facility in Johnstown, Ohio. Ohio is under close watch as it moves towards new Cannabis Legislation of it’s own, including the initiation of The Fresh Start Act.
The Fresh Start Act is an initiated statue proposing the review and expungement of criminal records for people with past marijuana convictions if the crime is no longer illegal after the passage of the Responsible Ohio amendment and will now go to the Ohio Ballot Board for review.
“People shouldn’t be haunted by the ghosts of their past. The Fresh Start Act will provide the clean slate that so many folks need to get on with their lives and contribute positively to our society. It’s the right thing to do, and we’re confident voters will agree,” said Executive Director of Responsible Ohio, Ian James.
Thankfully, this November, Ohio voters will have the chance to reform these bad laws and take the steps necessary to give many Ohioans a second chance to remove the unfair obstacles that stand in the way of a full, productive life because of their previous non-violent marijuana convictions. We believe it’s a step in the right direction. How about you?
